Over Moscow’s fireworks

Every year, on the second Sunday of September, many cities across Russia and Belarus celebrate their City Day. The “Western Russia” region of the VATRUS division couldn’t stay aside and invites you to celebrate these occasions with a grand event — “Over Moscow’s fireworks”.

On September 14, 2025, from 16:00 to 20:00 UTC, full ATC coverage from ground to sky will be provided in the cities celebrating their special day:

• Minsk (UMMS) – the vibrant capital of Belarus, known for its green avenues and rich history.
• Moscow (UUEE, UUWW, UUDD)– the heart of Russia, where ancient landmarks meet modern energy.
• Samara (UWWW) – a beautiful Volga river city with a storied aerospace legacy.
• Saratov (UWSG) – a cultural and industrial hub on the Volga, brimming with charm.

On this day, more than 20 controllers from the region will do their utmost to ensure your flight is seamless and immersive. You can choose any route within the region or beyond it.

Make sure to carry extra fuel for possible delays, check the latest charts and NOTAMs, and join us in the skies to celebrate City Day together on the virtual frequencies of the Western Russia region!
